English Springer Spaniel - Hugs & Kisses - Medium - Senior
From their foster mom: Please let me introduce two super-sweet senior ladies, Hugs and Kisses. These sisters are a bonded pair. Hugs and Kisses have come to ESRA in their golden years because their former owner is no longer able to care for them.
The girls are up to date on all their vaccinations and are heartworm negative. They were spayed approximately eight years ago. Both of the girls have a bit of arthritis. When Hugs and Kisses first came to us, they both had noticeable limps and were having trouble walking distances. The vet prescribed two buffered aspirins a day, and they have shown great improvement. They can now walk around the neighborhood without any limping!
This dynamic duo is now flourishing in our foster home. Hugs and Kisses lived in the quiet Iowa countryside with little traffic and only distant neighbors. Suburban life has offered many new sights and experiences, which at first required a few good rounds of "talking." As the girls have settled into their new home, they are becoming more accustomed to cars, joggers, and neighbors, so they don't have to do so much "talking" any more. They have each other, and they show no interest in meeting other dogs. We feel that they would do best in a home without any other dogs. Both of the girls are hard of hearing. They will require a fenced in yard for their protection, as they do not hear most vocal commands.
Hugs and Kisses are wonderful Springer girls and true Velcro dogs. They offer unconditional love, wiggle butts, snuggles, and a big round of "Woo! Woo!" to greet you when you come home. Due to the girls' age, they don't have the high energy typical of Springers. So if you want all the good loving that a Springer has to offer without the high energy, these are the dogs for you!
Hugs and Kisses have always been together, and they are very dependent upon each other. ESRA therefore feels that they should be adopted together.
